Book Review

Horse, Follow Closely.

by GaWaNi Pony Boy.

Photographs by Gabrielle Boiselle

135 pages

Another book in the 'horse whisperer' mode but this one is unusual in that it is about the age old wisdom of the Native American.

It combines a modern approach to training your horse from handling to backing to ridden exercises with the hope of creating a lifetime bond between you both. The book is laced with stories from the different Indian Nations and insights into their way of life. The author encourages you to spend time with your horse and get to know his every mood and movement in this way you can better understand how to work with him and to see at once when all is not well, whether he is sick or playing or just trying you out!

The Native American rider's ability to communicate with horses was nothing short of spectacular and so was the horses' ability to interpret commands given on a moments notice, they were at one with each other .

This book may give you a greater understanding and knowledge, it also may have you riding round the field at night in the dark with just a horse blanket between you and your mount! Who knows, Either way it is a beautiful book to look through with some splendid photographs it would make an ideal christmas present for anyone with a love of horses and an interest in the the Native American way of life.
